'People' people and 'Idea' people

That's me, or so I've been told. The people I like to be around though are 'Idea people'.
Got an idea? I wanna hear it, discuss it, analyze it, apply it, morph it, etc.

Sounds a lot like a theory I've been working on for a while... I think some people are made to work with people, some are made to work with ideas, and some are made to work with things. And then I think each can be broken into three subcategories, so you have nine types of people:

PP: work with people for the benefit of people (e.g. teacher)
PT: work with people for the benefit of things (e.g. marketing researcher)
PI: work with people for the benefit of ideas (e.g. politician)
TP: work with things for the benefit of people (e.g. orthopedic engineer)
TT: work with things for the benefit of things (e.g. carpenter)
TI: work with things for the benefit of ideas (e.g. set designer)
IP: work with ideas for the benefit of people (e.g. organizational developer)
IT: work with ideas for the benefit of things (e.g. chemist)
II: work with ideas for the benefit of ideas (e.g. philosopher)

Someday a test could be developed to show what kind of person you are and what kind of jobs suite that alignment, and I'm sure far better examples can be found.

I'm an IP. I work best with ideas but need to work with them in a context that impacts people; not ideas for ideas' sake or ideas to make a widget better.

I think all of these are valid and important roles for people to fill, but I am guessing every person would feel like one particular type resonates with them. Then again, Jesus was a carpenter, teacher and philosopher among lots of other traits. I haven't figured out if that was an example to follow or evidence of a superhuman nature.
